Despite how active you may be, there are areas that are difficult to target for weight loss, such as love handles, the lower belly, and the neck/chin area. For example, someone who is an avid runner, may be unhappy with their double chin, regardless of how much they exercise. CoolSculpting is an innovative way to reduce localized areas of fat through a noninvasive procedure.

CoolSculpting is a procedure that utilizes a vacuum-like tool that is set at a specific, cool temperature that freezes fat cells. Because the temperature it is set so precisely for targeting fat, the skin and tissue does not freeze. Freezing the fat cells causes them to dissolve, so results can start to be noticed within a few days. Patients will be able to see full results within 1 to 3 months following the procedure.

CoolSculpting is designed to target specific, localized areas of fat. Many people choose to get more than one session of CoolSculpting for the best results, or they wish to reduce fat in multiple different areas. The ideal candidate for CoolSculpting has certain areas of fat that they seek to reduce and minimal skin laxity, since the procedure does not create tighter skin. Because this CoolSculpting is not invasive, patients are able to resume normal activity right away.

Liposuction differs from CoolSculpting in that it is a more invasive procedure that physically removes the fat, rather than dissolving it. Liposuction is a surgery designed for someone who has larger areas of fat and is looking to reduce it and see quick results. If you are stuck deciding between liposuction or CoolSculpting, schedule a consultation with Dr. Kassir to determine which procedure will be most beneficial for you.
