How do I know if CoolSculpting is right for me?

You may be a good candidate for CoolSculpting if you have stubborn fat in localized areas that you are looking to get rid of without surgery.

What does the CoolSculpting process consist of?

Dr. Kassir first marks the areas that the patient wishes to reduce fat from, and then a gel pad is placed on the stomach for protection. From there, the CoolSculpting applicator is then placed on the area of excess fat and suctions onto the skin at a specific temperature to freeze the fat.

What areas can fat be reduced through CoolSculpting?

The most common places for a CoolSculpting treatment include the stomach, love handles, back, neck, and thighs.

What happens to the fat?

CoolSculpting is the process of freezing the fat. Once the fat cells are frozen, the cells die off.

How are tissue cells not frozen?

Because the surrounding tissue freezes at a lower temperature than fat cells do, the fat cells are the only cells that are frozen through CoolSculpting. The procedure involves a precise regulation of temperature to ensure that only fat cells are targeted.

Is CoolSculpting painful?

Typically for the first 5-10 minutes of the procedure patients experience an extreme cold feeling, but then the area goes numb, resulting in no pain or down time.

How long will it take to see the results?

Results can start to be seen around 3 weeks following the procedure, however, the body continues to get rid of the fat cells 4 to 6 months after a CoolSculpting session.

How many CoolSculpting sessions do I need to get the results I want?

It is best to consult with Dr. Kassir to determine how many CoolSculpting sessions will help you achieve your desired results, however, for a more dramatic result patients often choose to get 2 CoolSculpting sessions.

How much fat can be lost through CoolSculpting?

20-30% of fat can be lost after one session of CoolSculpting. To see more drastic results, most patients opt for a second session, or choose a surgical approach, such as liposuction.

Are the results permanent?

Yes, once the fat cells die off they do not return unless an unhealthy lifestyle is maintained.

Am I able to get CoolSculpting after liposuction?

Yes, the body can be further contoured with CoolSculpting after a patient has had a liposuction procedure done.
