Am I a good candidate for a facelift?

You may be a good candidate for a facelift if the aging process is beginning to take a toll on your face/neck area. A facelift can improve a sagging midface, under eye creases, nasolabial folds, jowls, and fat or sagging skin below the jaw (double chin).

Are there different types of facelifts?

Yes, there are many different types of facelifts that Dr. Kassir performs, such as a traditional SMAS facelift, which targets the neck and jowl areas, or an endoscopic facelift, which targets the midface and brow region. It is best to schedule a consultation to determine which type of facelift will target your specific goal.

Does a facelift change the texture of the skin?

No, a facelift is limited in that it can only lift and tighten the skin to reduce sagging and creases.

Will there be scarring as a result of the facelift?

Depending on the type of facelift, incisions are either made near the hairline or in front of the ear. With surgery, there is always a possibility of scarring, so it is important to see an experienced surgeon to ensure the best possible results.

Will my face look completely different after a facelift?

The facelift procedure is designed to reposition the muscles and tissues on the face to bring back a more youthful, natural appearance to the patient.

Can volume be restored during a facelift?

As aging takes a toll on the face, volume is often lost from the cheek area. Volume can be restored through a fat transfer during a facelift. On the contrary, excess fat on neck area can be removed through liposuction.

Are the results of a facelift permanent?

Although the clock is set back, the aging process will still continue to affect the face over time.

Can I get botox or dermal fillers after a facelift?

Yes, however, it is best to wait at least 2 weeks after a facelift.

How long is the down time for a facelift?

Most patients are able to return to work and normal daily activities after 10 days.

How long until I can resume exercise?

Patients should not resume exercise or heavy lifting up to 1 month after a facelift.

How long should I wait until I can wash my face?

Patients should typically wait up to 4 days following surgery to gently wash their face.

Can I go out in the sun after a facelift?

It is best to stay out of the direct sun for 1-2 months after a facelift to prevent swelling and scarring. After the recovery period, broad spectrum SPF 30 should be used on the face to protect the skin.

How should I sleep after a facelift?

Patients must sleep on their back following surgery to prevent swelling and friction surrounding the incision sites.
