Preventative Botox in NYC

No matter how much sun protection and anti-wrinkle serum is used, the effects of aging will eventually catch up to us. Rather than trying to combat a face full of wrinkles and lax skin at an older age, many people are taking preventative measures to deter the aging process. Botox injections work to relax muscles that are prone to overstimulation. By decreasing the movement in these muscles, there is little opportunity for the muscles to create wrinkles in the skin. Botox can relax the muscles in between the eyebrows so there are no fine lines, or it can relax the muscles around the mouth that are causing a frowning appearance to the face, for a more relaxed and youthful look.
Botox in early adulthood relaxes the muscles so the fine lines that begin to form in the late 20s and early 30s are delayed. Wrinkles are formed as a result of muscle movement, so by slightly restricting these movements, it is more difficult for wrinkles to form. For best results, treatments should be done every 3 to 6 months. Young adults typically get Botox around the eye area, since the eyes are a primary target for early aging effects.
