Why Does Renee Zellweger Look Different?

Renee Zellweger is well known for changing her appearance for movie roles, but the 45 year old actress looked completely unrecognizable at ELLE's 21st annual Women In Hollywood Awards.

After examining some old photos and comparing them to the way she looks today, “her forehead appears smooth and wrinkle-free, the distance between her brow and eyes is altered and her cheeks and jawline look different,” she triple board certified, facial plastic surgeon, Dr. Ramtin Kassir.

Renee Zellweger’s forehead points to either Botox or Dysport injections, and the difference in her cheekbones and jawline point to dermal fillers.

The most drastic change however, appears between her brow and eyes- the distance is smaller than before. This is most likely a result of upper blepharoplasty, commonly known as upper eyelid surgery.

Triple Board Certified, Park Ave plastic surgeon Dr. Ramtin Kassir, explains “the goal of cosmetic surgery is to enhance appearance and correct abnormalities.  Drastic changes and “unnatural” looks are evident throughout Renee Zellweger’s facial features, especially by her brow and her eyes.

“The reason Renee Zellweger looks different is because whoever did her upper blepharoplasty, commonly known as upper eyelid surgery did the wrong surgery on her, but did it correctly from a technical standpoint.  They did a nice upper eyelid surgery, but the problem is that it changed her entire look, making her appear older. I think her low brows and heavy eyelids are what gave her a sultry and sexy look before; which she no longer has,” says Park Ave, triple board certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Kassir.

By cutting skin out, and raising her eyebrows, which is a technical procedure called blepharoplasty and brow lift, that did not necessarily result in a more aesthetically appealing look.  What sets Dr. Kassir apart is that he emphasizes the golden ratio rule and preserves ethnicity and the specific characteristics on all of his patients from different countries.

“Every day in my practice I take care of my patients with tremendous concern for their well-being. It is our top priority to make sure that all treatments are safe and effective; we want every patient to leave our offices feeling extraordinary about themselves, without looking overdone or plastic,” states Dr. Kassir, who is referred to as the “Picasso of Faces” and “Olivia Pope of Plastic of Surgery,” particularly, in cases like this, where cosmetic procedures have gone wrong.
